About the Role
We are looking for a sincere, detail-oriented Audit Assistant to join our team. The candidate will assist in statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits and other assurance assignments across clients operating in different industries.
The role provides practical exposure to financial statements, accounting records, internal controls, statutory compliances and audit documentation. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of senior team members and partners of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in statutory audits, internal audits and tax audits.
- Verify books of account, ledgers, vouchers, invoices and supporting documents.
- Perform bank, vendor, customer and statutory dues reconciliations.
- Review compliance with TDS, GST, PF, ESI and other applicable laws.
- Assist in preparing audit working papers, checklists and supporting schedules.
- Conduct ledger scrutiny and identify unusual or high-value transactions.
- Assist in verification of revenue, expenditure, fixed assets, inventory, receivables and payables.
- Support preparation and review of financial statements under Schedule III of the Companies Act, 2013.
- Obtain audit information and confirmations from clients and follow up on pending requirements.
- Document audit observations and assist in preparing audit reports.
- Visit client locations for audit assignments, whenever required.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and comply with the firm’s professional standards.
Eligibility and Skills
- B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, CMA Inter or equivalent qualification.
- Freshers with a strong interest in audit and accounting are welcome to apply.
- Basic knowledge of accounting, auditing, GST and income tax.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with Tally Prime or other accounting software is desirable.
- Good analytical and numerical ability.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to manage assignments and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel locally for client assignments, where necessary.
