About the Role
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Electronics / Hardware Engineer with 3–5 years of industry experience to design, develop, test, and validate electronic systems for Proxgy’s next-generation IIoT devices.
The role requires strong hands-on experience in board-level electronics design, embedded hardware, power circuits, wireless modules, debugging, PCB design reviews, and production readiness.
You will work closely with firmware, mechanical, cloud, QA, manufacturing, and vendor teams to take hardware from concept to prototype, validation, certification, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end electronics development for embedded and IoT hardware products.
- Work on schematic design, PCB layout review, BOM selection, and component evaluation.
- Design analog, digital, power, and communication circuits for industrial-grade devices.
- Work with interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, GPIO, ADC, PWM, BLE, Wi-Fi, GPS, LTE/4G modules, and sensor interfaces.
- Perform hardware bring-up, board debugging, and validation using lab instruments.
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, current probes, and RF/debug tools for issue diagnosis.
- Optimize circuits for power consumption, thermal performance, signal integrity, and reliability.
- Work on battery-powered designs, charging circuits, DC-DC converters, LDOs, power-path design, and protection circuits.
- Collaborate with firmware teams for hardware/firmware integration and debugging.
- Collaborate with mechanical teams for enclosure constraints, connector placement, antenna placement, thermal design, and ruggedization.
- Support DFM, DFT, EMI/EMC, environmental testing, and certification readiness.
- Interact with vendors, component suppliers, PCB manufacturers, and contract manufacturers.
- Manage BOMs, alternate components, prototype builds, and pre-production iterations.
- Create and maintain hardware documentation, test plans, validation reports, and design review records.
- Participate in root-cause analysis for field failures and production issues.
- Contribute to hardware architecture decisions for new Proxgy products.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / M.S. in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems, or related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on hardware development experience.
- Strong experience in schematic design and PCB layout review.
- Good understanding of analog and digital electronics.
- Experience with embedded system hardware design using MCUs, SoCs, sensors, wireless modules, and power circuits.
- Hands-on experience with lab debugging tools such as:
- Oscilloscope
- DMM
- Logic analyzer
- Bench power supply
- Soldering/rework tools
- Good understanding of:
- Signal integrity
- Power integrity
- EMI/EMC basics
- Grounding and shielding
- ESD protection
- DFM and production constraints
- Experience with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, BLE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and LTE modules.
- Ability to read datasheets, reference designs, application notes, and hardware design guidelines.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of design decisions.
- Strong debugging mindset and ability to solve hardware issues systematically.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar tools.
- Experience with wireless hardware design involving BLE, BLE Mesh, Wi-Fi, GPS, LTE/4G, or antenna integration.
- Experience with battery-powered IoT devices.
- Understanding of power electronics, battery charging, BMS, fuel gauge ICs, and DC-DC converter design.
- Exposure to industrial or rugged hardware design.
- Experience with compliance testing such as CE, FCC, BIS, IP rating, EMI/EMC, or safety testing.
- Experience working with production-scale hardware, EVT/DVT/PVT cycles, and contract manufacturers.
- Understanding of hardware-firmware co-debugging.
- Experience with wearable electronics, smart locks, payment devices, surveillance devices, or industrial IoT products is a plus.
