As we continue to strengthen our business and expand our operations, we are looking for an experienced and responsible HR - Assistant Manager / Sr. Executive who can independently manage and develop the complete HR function. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building a strong workforce, implementing effective HR systems and policies, improving employee performance, and creating a professional and positive workplace culture.
Job Summary
The HR - Assistant Manager / Sr. Executive will be responsible for managing the complete employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, employee engagement, payroll coordination, employee relations, and exit formalities.
The role will also involve coordinating HR activities across Happy Holidays and its sister concern companies, ensuring consistency in HR processes, employee practices, policies, and workforce management.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication and people-management skills, practical knowledge of HR policies and labour regulations, and the ability to independently handle HR operations while working closely with management and respective department heads.
Experience in the travel, tourism, hospitality, sales, or service industry will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage HR-related activities and requirements of Happy Holidays and its sister concern companies, ensuring smooth coordination and consistent HR practices across the organizations.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for Travel Consultants, Sales Executives, Ticketing Staff, Visa Executives, Operations Staff, Accounts, and other departments.
- Prepare job descriptions and publish openings on Indeed, LinkedIn, social media, and other recruitment platforms.
- Screen applications, conduct initial interviews, coordinate final interviews, and manage offer negotiations.
- Work closely with respective Reporting Managers and Department Heads to understand manpower requirements and ensure timely recruitment.
- Complete employee onboarding, documentation, orientation, confirmation, transfer, promotion, and exit formalities.
- Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, leave details, holiday lists, and HR databases.
- Coordinate monthly payroll inputs, incentives, deductions, reimbursements, and final settlements with the Accounts team.
- Develop, implement, review, and update company HR policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory HR requirements.
- Conduct periodic employee performance evaluations by coordinating with the respective Reporting Managers and Department Heads, collect performance feedback, identify areas for improvement, and submit performance reports/recommendations to management.
- Implement and monitor performance appraisal systems, probation reviews, KPI tracking, employee targets, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Monitor employee productivity, attendance, punctuality, discipline, performance, and overall workplace conduct.
- Manage employee grievances, disciplinary matters, workplace conflicts, and performance-related concerns professionally and confidentially.
- Identify employee performance gaps and coordinate with Reporting Managers to implement appropriate corrective and improvement measures.
- Plan and conduct employee engagement, recognition, training, development, and team-building activities.
- Support department managers with workforce planning, manpower requirements, recruitment planning, and staffing decisions.
- Monitor employee retention, absenteeism, productivity, and overall workforce performance.
- Prepare regular HR reports, employee performance reports, recruitment reports, attrition reports, and other management reports.
- Provide management with HR insights and recommendations related to employee performance, retention, manpower planning, and workplace issues.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyse reasons for employee attrition, and recommend corrective actions to improve employee retention.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information, salary details, performance records, disciplinary matters, and other sensitive HR information.
- Build and maintain a positive, professional, disciplined, accountable, and performance-oriented workplace culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including experience handling HR operations independently.
- Previous experience in the travel, tourism, hospitality, sales, or service industry is preferred.
- Strong experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR policies, payroll coordination, and performance management.
- Good understanding of applicable labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Tamil. Hindi will be an added advantage.
- Ability to independently handle employee-related matters and coordinate effectively with management and department heads.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters professionally.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, HR software, and recruitment portals such as Indeed.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple HR activities and priorities simultaneously.
