Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced AGM – Operations & Maintenance (Power Plant) to lead the overall Operations & Maintenance of a Captive Power Plant. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Thermal/Captive Power Plants attached to Integrated Steel, Iron, Sponge Iron, Ferro Alloys, or Heavy Metal Manufacturing plants.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Boiler, Turbine, Generator (BTG) and all auxiliary systems while driving plant availability, efficiency, preventive maintenance, and statutory compliance.
Note: Candidates without experience in Captive/Thermal Power Plants within Steel, Iron, Sponge Iron, or Ferro Alloy industries will not be considered.Key Responsibilities
- Lead complete Operations & Maintenance activities of the Captive Power Plant.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of Boiler, Turbine, Generator (BTG), and auxiliary equipment.
- Maximize plant availability, reliability, and generation efficiency.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor plant performance and implement improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.
- Coordinate shutdown planning, annual overhauls, and maintenance schedules.
- Supervise Boiler, Turbine, CHP (Coal Handling Plant), AHP (Ash Handling Plant), Water Treatment Plant, Cooling Tower, and Balance of Plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical safety, environmental norms, and pollution control requirements.
- Analyze operational data, fuel consumption, heat rate, auxiliary power consumption, and efficiency reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational MIS and maintenance reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Utility departments.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Control maintenance budgets, spare parts planning, and inventory optimization.
- Develop and mentor operations and maintenance teams to achieve operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Power Engineering, or related discipline.
- Diploma candidates with exceptional CPP leadership experience may also be considered.
- Additional certifications in Power Plant Operations or Maintenance will be an advantage.
Experience
- 12–18+ years of experience in Captive or Thermal Power Plant Operations & Maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role (AGM/DGM/Senior Manager).
- Experience in Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) operations is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with Coal-Based Captive Power Plants is highly preferred.
