Role overview for the Technical Associate
Technical associates have to do biospecimen (e.g. Blood, urine, pus) archival across the different departments within our diagnostic lab- Unipath specialty Laboratory Ltd. The sample has to be processed (centrifugation and separation of plasma, serum, PMBC or cell pellets), aliquoted, labelled and stored in Biobank. This is a hands-on role requiring close coordination with lab technicians of internal departments and pathology teams on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily tracking of positive diagnostic samples based on the specific requirement list shared by Biobank team within each department (Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Histopathology).
- Retrieve the samples immediately after the retention period, process and store in respective storage conditions (-80/-20 or RT)
- Maintain detailed record of the samples ensuring data integrity and traceability.
- Coordinate with Unipath logistics teams to facilitate timely and secure transportation of samples to the clients.
- Process blood/urine/biologic fluids to separate PBMCs/cells pellets if required.
- Follow SOPs to support quality, ethics and audit activities
- Communicate efficiently and Coordinate with internal teams for smooth workflows
- Support sample collections from screening sites/camps organized by Unipath with proper patient counselling.
Required qualifications & skills
- DMLT with minimum 6 months’ laboratory experience
- Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft excels and word
- Communication skill (Hindi & Gujrati)
