Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Google Looker Consultant to design, develop, and optimize business intelligence solutions using Google's Looker platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and leadership teams to transform complex data into actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and data models.
Key Responsibilities
Looker Development & Administration
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Google's Looker platform.
- Build and manage scalable data models using LookML.
- Develop reusable metrics, dimensions, and data exploration layers.
- Optimize dashboard performance and query efficiency.
Data Integration & Modeling
- Connect Looker with various data sources including:
- Google BigQuery
- Snowflake
- Amazon Redshift
- SQL Server
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- Design and implement semantic data models to support business reporting requirements.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across reporting environments.
Stakeholder Management
- Gather business requirements from functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, and Customer Success.
- Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
- Conduct user training sessions and create documentation.
Analytics & Insights
- Develop KPI frameworks and executive dashboards.
- Perform data analysis and identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
- Support ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests.
Governance & Best Practices
- Implement security and access controls within Looker.
- Establish dashboard development standards and best practices.
- Monitor platform performance and usage metrics.
- Support data governance initiatives.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Looker.
- Strong expertise in LookML development.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as:
- Google Cloud BigQuery
- Snowflake
- Amazon Web Services Redshift
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with APIs and data integrations.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Google Looker certification preferred.
- Experience working in consulting, analytics, or business intelligence environments.
