We are a fast-growing e-commerce brand managing multiple marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, and quick-commerce platforms. With a strong focus on scaling our operations, we are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage our company’s financial operations, compliance, and reporting.
Role Overview
The Accountant will oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, manage vendor payments, reconcile marketplace settlements, ensure compliance with GST, TDS and support business decision-making with accurate financial data.
This role is ideal for someone with e-commerce accounting knowledge and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and tax consultants.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Tasks
- Record and update all day-to-day accounting transactions in accounting software (Busy, Tally, or similar).
- Monitor marketplace settlements (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) and reconcile payments.
- Verify and record customer refunds, returns, and damaged inventory claims (e.g., FBA reimbursements).
- Manage cash, petty cash, and bank reconciliations daily.
- Ensure timely vendor invoice entry and cross-check supporting documents.
Weekly / Monthly Tasks
- Prepare and file GST returns and reconcile GSTR-2A vs books.
- Oversee TDS compliance, payment, and filing.
- Coordinate with HR to process salaries, PF, and ESI contributions.
- Generate P&L statements, expense reports, and monthly summaries for management review.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for inventory purchases and operational costs.
Marketplace & E-commerce Specific
- Maintain detailed records for marketplace commissions, deductions, and fees.
- Validate Amazon FBA reimbursements and claim for missing or damaged goods.
- Support marketing team with ad spend tracking and campaign ROI calculations.
- Reconcile COD collections with delivery partner reports.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in e-commerce or retail.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS laws.
- Experience with accounting software like Busy, Tally, or Zoho Books.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
