The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient condition; report any abnormalities to the concerned doctor.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
- Ensure infection control practices and maintain cleanliness of patient care areas.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment, medications, and post-care instructions.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, and ethical standards.
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
- Handle medical equipment safely and report any malfunction.
- Participate in continuous nursing education and training programs.
Duties in Emergency / Critical Situations
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide life-saving nursing care.
- Assist in CPR and emergency procedures as per protocol.
- Coordinate with doctors and other departments during emergencies.
Experience:
- 1–3 years experience in hospital (ICU/Emergency/Ward preferred)
