Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Seafood Chef to prepare, cook, and present high-quality seafood dishes while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. The ideal candidate should have expertise in handling, cleaning, filleting, and cooking various types of fish and shellfish, along with the ability to create innovative seafood menu offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook seafood dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
- Clean, fillet, portion, and store fish and shellfish properly.
- Ensure freshness and quality of seafood ingredients.
- Develop and recommend new seafood menu items and seasonal specials.
- Monitor food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Manage seafood inventory, stock rotation, and waste control.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of fresh seafood.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff involved in seafood preparation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or related field preferred.
- Specialized training in seafood preparation is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Expertise in seafood preparation and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of various fish, shellfish, and seafood products.
- Strong knife skills, including filleting and portioning.
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
