Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in traditional and modern Indian cuisine, a deep understanding of regional dishes, and a creative approach to presentation and flavor. You will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, managing kitchen operations, ensuring hygiene standards, and contributing to menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian dishes, including North Indian, South Indian, and regional specialties.
- Ensure food is prepared in accordance with standard recipes and presentation specifications.
- Supervise kitchen staff involved in Indian cuisine preparation.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen.
- Monitor food stock, reduce waste, and manage kitchen inventory related to Indian food.
- Assist in the development of Indian menus and seasonal specials.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to source authentic Indian ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or similar establishment (typically 5+ years).
- In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Culinary degree or diploma preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain consistency.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
