Role: Associate Lecturer – Pre-Employment Training

Salary/Benefits: Salary is £20.50 per hour
Hours/Weeks: Up to 20 hours per week

About the role:
We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in Pre-Employment Training to join our Adult & Community Learning & ESOL department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Associate Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching & Learning Delivery - Plan and deliver high-quality teaching across a range of courses and levels, adapting to individual learner needs and creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences.

Assessment & Quality Assurance - Assess and monitor student work in line with awarding body standards, implementing quality processes and ensuring learners meet required outcomes and deadlines.

Student Progress & Support - Track and record learner progress, providing feedback and interventions to help students achieve their full potential.

Curriculum Development & Innovation - Develop schemes of work and learning materials, staying up to date with subject developments and contributing to innovative teaching practices.

Administration & Compliance - Maintain accurate records, complete administrative tasks, collaborate with colleagues, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and professional development requirements.
About you:
- Qualifications & Teaching Experience - Level 3 qualification with GCSE English and Maths and a teaching award, alongside proven experience delivering and assessing learning to groups of young people and adults.

Subject Knowledge & IT Skills - Up-to-date expertise in the specialist area, with confidence using Microsoft Office and digital tools to support teaching and administration.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse learners, build positive relationships, and maintain a supportive learning environment.

Organisation & Professional Standards - Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, maintain high performance, and contribute positively to team objectives and college values.

Compliance & Flexibility - Commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health & safety, with flexibility to work across sites, maintain professional boundaries, and continuously develop skills.
What is an Associate?
Associates work on a short-term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services, and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate Agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you.
