The Heat Treatment Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling all heat treatment operations to ensure that fasteners meet the required mechanical, metallurgical, and customer specifications. The role includes setting and optimizing heat treatment parameters for hardening, tempering, annealing, normalizing, carburizing, and stress relieving processes; monitoring furnace temperatures, atmosphere control, quenching media, and cycle times; ensuring compliance with customer specifications, ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949, and applicable industry standards; conducting metallurgical testing including hardness, microstructure, case depth, decarburization, and tensile property evaluations; investigating heat treatment failures and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA); maintaining heat treatment records, process documentation, and furnace calibration reports; coordinating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning departments to ensure smooth operations; ensuring preventive maintenance and calibration of furnaces, thermocouples, temperature controllers, and testing equipment; participating in internal, customer, and third-party audits while maintaining audit readiness; driving continuous process improvement to enhance productivity, reduce defects, and optimize energy consumption; ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements; and training operators on heat treatment processes and quality standards. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering with 3–7 years of experience in heat treatment operations within the fastener, automotive, or manufacturing industry, strong knowledge of ferrous metallurgy, heat treatment processes, furnace operations, CQI-9 Heat Treatment System Assessment, IATF 16949 requirements, engineering drawings, and metallurgical testing, along with excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹51,470.28 per month
