Job Title: Public Relations Officer (PRO)
Department: Administration / Public Relations
Reports To: Hospital Administrator / Medical Superintendent
Job Summary
The Hospital Public Relations Officer (PRO) is responsible for maintaining a positive public image of the hospital, managing patient relations, handling inquiries and complaints, coordinating with media, and acting as a communication link between patients, visitors, doctors, and hospital management.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient & Visitor Relations
- Receive and guide patients and attendants courteously.
- Address patient queries, grievances, and feedback promptly.
- Ensure patient satisfaction through effective communication and service coordination.
- Assist patients in understanding hospital procedures, services, and billing processes.
Public Relations & Communication
- Promote hospital services, specialties, and achievements.
- Maintain good relationships with referring doctors, corporates, insurance companies, and the public.
- Coordinate with internal departments for smooth patient flow and service delivery.
- Organize hospital events, health camps, awareness programs, and community outreach activities.
Media & Marketing Support
- Coordinate with media for hospital-related news, press releases, and coverage.
- Support digital marketing activities such as social media updates and website content.
- Assist in branding and promotional activities of the hospital.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain records of patient feedback and complaints.
- Prepare reports on patient satisfaction and public interaction.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and ethical standards.
- Support hospital management in crisis communication when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, or any relevant discipline.
- Degree/Diploma in Hospital Administration preferred.
- Relevant experience in healthcare or service industry is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Knowledge of hospital operations and medical terminology (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer applications.
Working Conditions
- May involve shift duties, including weekends and holidays.
- Requires frequent interaction with patients, attendants, and medical staff.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
