Role Overview
The Sports Facilitator will implement Magic Bus’s life skills and employability curriculum using sports (football) as a medium. The role involves facilitating structured classroom and field-based sessions to build teamwork, leadership, discipline, and gender inclusivity among adolescents aged 14 –18 years, while supporting their career awareness and future readiness.
Overall Responsibility
· Train and counsel high school students (Grade IX - XII) in life and employability skills (with special focus on career pathways) to make them employment ready
· Work with schools, employers, and internal teams for smooth programme implementation and support students in transitioning to higher education, vocational training, or employment opportunities.
· Facilitate industry exposure and career pathway awareness for students
· Act as a link between students, schools, and local opportunities (jobs, skills, sports, training institutes)
Roles and responsibilities
· Deliver integrated life skills and employability sessions through classroom and football-based activities, using physical and digital resources, while planning and conducting structured, safe, inclusive, and engaging football sessions aligned with life skills and sports career pathways.
· Guide students based on local job opportunities and sector awareness
· Support students in career awareness, identifying pathways after Grade XII (education, skills, jobs), and building basic job readiness skills such as communication, interviews, and workplace behaviour.
· Ensure students complete their application projects identified for the programme
· Facilitate access to relevant government schemes and opportunities for students with potential in sports and support their families in navigating these resources.
· Support students in basic job readiness skills such as communication, interviews, and workplace behaviour
· Work with the curriculum team and Magic Bus content partners to identify new content for addressing students’ needs
· Prepare yearly, monthly and weekly plans to ensure timely completion of desired learning objectives outlined in project
· Conduct workshops for parents to create an enabling atmosphere and build awareness on career pathways and opportunities after Grade XII
· Assist with expert visits to ensure students have an adequate understanding of various industries and careers
· Be responsible for resource inventory and digital devices (tablets) in each school considering safety, maintenance, and replacement of devices per requirement
· Provide data and reports about the programme, school, and student performance using various data recording platforms used in Magic Bus
· Use sports and group activities as tools to build life skills such as collaboration, leadership, and discipline, and identify students with potential interest in sports pathways
· Conduct home visits and community events
Key Skills and Competencies
· Understanding and openness to the Sport for Development methodology.
· Basic knowledge of football, including laws, terminology, technical, tactical, and fitness aspects.
· Basic awareness of career pathways, local job markets, and placement processes (preferred).
· Patience and ability to teach both girls and boys in a clear, engaging, and inclusive manner.
· Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to design and deliver interactive classroom and field-based learning activities.
· Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to engage with students, staff, volunteers, and school authorities.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while managing deadlines and working under pressure.
· Proficiency in English and the local language, based on programme location.
· Strong documentation and reporting skills, including writing impact stories and presenting programme inputs using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Digital literacy, including the ability to manage content platforms, use learning apps, and handle basic troubleshooting of Android devices.
· Ability to effectively use email and social media platforms for communication and programme-related activities.
· Capacity to support students in basic digital job search processes, including online applications and employment-related communication.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in facilitation, life skills education, or youth development, with basic knowledge of football.
- Ability to mentor students for higher aspirations and skill building
- Graduate in physical education/ sports science/ any relevant discipline
- Strong communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
