Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Association Director of Business Development – International Expansion to lead and support our growth initiatives in the Indian market. This role is responsible for identifying market opportunities, building strong strategic partnerships, and executing successful market entry and expansion strategies aligned with our global business objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business development, international market expansion, and cross-cultural collaboration, with the ability to work effectively across teams in the United States and India.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Research & Strategy Development
- Conduct comprehensive research on the Indian market, including industry trends, customer segments, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic market entry and growth plans to support long-term business expansion.
Regulatory & Market Entry Support
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and local advisors to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, tax, and operational requirements in India.
- Support the establishment and execution of market entry processes and operational frameworks.
Partnership Development
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with local organizations, distributors, vendors, and industry stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships to support business growth and brand presence.
Go-to-Market Execution
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to adapt messaging, pricing, and positioning strategies for the Indian market.
- Assist in launching targeted campaigns and business development initiatives to drive engagement and market penetration.
Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Generate, manage, and close new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Develop sales pipelines and contribute to revenue growth objectives.
Conference & Event Planning
- Plan and execute in-person conferences, networking events, and business meetings in India.
- Coordinate venue selection, vendor management, sponsorship opportunities, attendee engagement, logistics, and on-site event execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between U.S.-based teams and Indian partners to ensure alignment on business goals, timelines, and operational execution.
- Maintain effective communication across multiple time zones and stakeholders.
Competitive Analysis
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and improve business strategies.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reporting on business development activities, pipeline progress, partnerships, and revenue performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, international expansion, market entry strategy, or related roles
- Strong understanding of market research and competitive analysis
- Experience developing partnerships and managing client relationships
- Experience planning and executing in-person events or conferences is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong cross-cultural collaboration and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours to support collaboration between U.S. and India teams
- Highly organized with strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in or with the Indian market
- Familiarity with Indian regulatory, operational, and business practices
- Background or experience in healthcare, associations, or international organizations is an advantage
Work Environment
This role requires flexibility in working hours to effectively collaborate with a home office based in California while maintaining strong communication and coordination with partners and stakeholders in India.
Pay: From ₹950,000.00 per year
