Job Description: Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / Plant Maintenance)

Position Summary
The Maintenance Engineer will be stationed full-time at our manufacturing facility on . The candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant uptime, machinery reliability, and mechanical integrity of continuous/batch process lines. This includes executing hands-on preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all rotary, static, and utility equipment.

Core Responsibilities & Technical Mandate1. On-Floor Rotary Equipment Maintenance
- Pumps & Drives: Laser alignment, dynamic balancing, and troubleshooting of Centrifugal, Monoblock, High-Vacuum, Gear, and Dosing Pumps. [1]
- Agitators & Blenders: Preventative maintenance and overhauling of high-torque industrial Agitators, Mixers, and Blenders connected to chemical reactors.
- Mechanical Seals: Hands-on experience in replacing, testing, and handling Single & Double Mechanical Seals and gland packings to guarantee zero chemical leakages.
2. Static Equipment & Piping Operations
- Reactors & Vessels: Routine mechanical inspections, thickness testing, and maintenance of Stainless Steel (SS) and Glass-Lined Reactors (GLRs).
- Heat Exchangers: Execute periodic cleaning, de-scaling, and hydro-testing of Shell-and-Tube and Plate Heat Exchangers.
- Piping Infrastructure: Supervise plant piping modifications utilizing high-grade MOCs (SS316, SS304, Carbon Steel) along with various control, ball, and butterfly valves. [1]
3. Plant Utilities Maintenance
- Complete oversight and breakdown fixing of site utilities including Industrial Boilers, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, Water Treatment Plants (WTP), and Steam Traps. [1, 2]
4. Execution of PM / Breakdown & Safety Compliance
- Implement the daily and monthly Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule to hit minimal downtime targets.
- Lead the quick troubleshooting of sudden operational mechanical breakdowns (Breakdown Maintenance).
- Supervise on-site fabrication teams and third-party contract laborers.
- Issue Work Permits (Hot work, Confined space) and ensure absolute compliance with LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) and chemical plant safety norms. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Required Candidate ProfileEducation & Technical Knowledge:
- Degree: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong capability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and engineering blueprints. [1]
Experience:
- 3 to 6 years of on-floor mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical process or hazardous material manufacturing industry.
Software & Soft Skills:
- Basic exposure to ERP systems (like SAP PM Module) for logging maintenance notifications and checking spare parts inventory.
- Fluency in Marathi and Hindi is mandatory to manage shop-floor technicians and contract labor effectively.
