We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Diagnostic Laboratory Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Diagnostic Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory investigations, maintaining quality standards, handling laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting clinicians in delivering timely and reliable diagnostic services.
Key ResponsibilitiesSample Collection & Processing
- Collect blood, urine, stool, and other laboratory samples as per standard protocols.
- Perform venipuncture and sample handling procedures safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and transportation of specimens.
Laboratory Testing
- Perform routine laboratory investigations including:
- Hematology
- Clinical Biochemistry
- Serology
- Immunology
- Urine Analysis
- Semen Analysis (if trained)
- Operate laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment.
- Validate and record test results accurately.
Quality Assurance
- Follow laboratory quality control procedures.
- Ensure adherence to NABL and quality standards (where applicable).
- Maintain laboratory documentation and records.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks.
- Report equipment malfunction promptly.
- Ensure proper inventory management of reagents and consumables.
Patient Care & Safety
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Follow infection control and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic laboratory environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Generate accurate laboratory reports.
- Coordinate with consultants and clinicians regarding urgent or abnormal results.
- Maintain registers, logs, and laboratory records.
Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualification
- DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology)
- OR
- B.Sc. MLT (Medical Laboratory Technology)
- 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience in hospital diagnostic laboratories will be an added advantage.
Desired Skills
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures.
- Good sample collection skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory analyzers and equipment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and report entry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Candidates
Candidates with experience in:
- Hospital laboratories
- Fertility and reproductive health laboratories
- NABL-compliant laboratories
- Diagnostic centres and multispeciality hospitals
will be given preference.
