Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Pharmacy Accountant to oversee financial transactions and accounting records related to the pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with accounting principles and healthcare regulations, manage inventory costs, track receivables/payables, and contribute to overall financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Transactions & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy-related financial transactions.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly financial statements and reports.
- Reconcile pharmacy accounts and resolve discrepancies.
2. Billing & Invoicing:
- Process purchase invoices, sales receipts, and patient billing.
- Coordinate with insurance providers for claim submissions and reconciliations.
- Monitor and follow up on pending payments from customers and institutions.
3. Inventory & Cost Management:
- Collaborate with pharmacists to monitor stock levels and inventory valuation.
- Record and adjust for inventory wastage, returns, and expiry.
- Ensure timely procurement and cost analysis of medicines and medical supplies.
4. Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure all financial practices align with statutory laws and internal policies.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation.
5. Collaboration & Communication:
- Coordinate with the procurement for order and stock reconciliations.
- Liaise with the finance department to ensure proper cash flow and budgeting.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for the pharmacy unit.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com, M.Com, or CA Inter preferred).
- Minimum 1 years of experience in accounting; healthcare or pharmacy experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books).
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and healthcare billing procedures.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
