We are looking for a motivated and technically sound Geotechnical Engineer to join our NABL Accredited Testing Laboratory. The role involves both field and office work, including soil investigation, geotechnical testing, interpretation of test results, and preparation of professional geotechnical reports.
The candidate should be comfortable visiting project sites whenever required and coordinating with clients and project engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Geotechnical Investigation Reports (GIRs) and Soil Investigation Reports.
- Interpret field and laboratory test results for geotechnical projects.
- Visit project sites for soil investigation and field testing whenever required.
- Supervise and assist in borehole investigations and sample collection.
- Coordinate with drilling teams and laboratory personnel.
- Prepare field logs, bore logs, and technical documentation.
- Assist in site tests such as:
- Standard Penetration Test (SPT)
- Plate Load Test
- Field Density Test
- California Bearing Ratio (CBR)
- Other geotechnical field investigations as required
- Ensure reports comply with relevant IS Codes and project specifications.
- Maintain proper documentation and follow laboratory quality procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.Tech./ME in Geotechnical Engineering, M.Tech./ME in Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering, BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering if candidate has relevant experience in this field.
- 1–3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or soil investigation.
- Good understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
- Knowledge of relevant Indian Standards (IS Codes) related to geotechnical investigations.
- Ability to prepare technical reports independently.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and field investigations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience preparing Geotechnical Investigation Reports.
- Knowledge of bore log preparation and soil classification.
- Understanding of foundation recommendations and Safe Bearing Capacity (SBC) calculations.
- Good technical writing and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
