Position: Quality Controller
Industry: Steel Structure / PEB Building Manufacturing / Structure Fabrication
Job Responsibilities:
Inspect raw materials, fabrication work, welding, and finished structures.
Ensure quality standards are maintained during production and site work.
Check dimensions, drawings, welding quality, and structural fittings.
Prepare quality inspection reports and maintain documentation.
Coordinate with production, site, and project teams for quality improvement.
Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Follow safety and industry quality standards.
1. Quality Assurance & Control
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspection of materials and finished goods.
- Ensure compliance with product specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
- Monitor production processes to maintain consistent quality output.
2. Process Compliance
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Monitor process parameters and highlight deviations.
- Support implementation of quality systems such as ISO 9001.
3. Safety Implementation (EHS)
- Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits across plant areas.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE.
4. Training & Awareness
- Conduct training sessions on quality standards and safety practices.
- Create awareness among employees regarding defects, risks, and compliance.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain inspection reports, test records, safety checklists, and audit reports.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on quality performance and safety status.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Review down-line reports
6. Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, and HR teams.
- Support management in achieving quality and safety objectives.
Requirements:
Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Experience in steel structure, PEB, fabrication, or Steel structure projects.
Knowledge of welding inspection, drawings, and quality tools.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and documentation.
Experience:
4–10 years preferred in Steel industry.
