We specialize in refrigerated, expedited, dedicated, cross-border, and time-sensitive transportation services.
We are seeking an experienced transportation accounting professional to support our brokerage accounting operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations, carrier management, customer service, and leadership teams to ensure accurate billing, carrier settlements, reconciliations, documentation control, and financial administration.
This is not a general accounting position.
Transportation accounting experience is mandatory.
Position Purpose
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that every load is billed accurately, every carrier is paid correctly, all supporting documentation is maintained properly, and financial records remain accurate and audit-ready.
In addition to day-to-day accounting responsibilities, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to grow into a future finance and revenue assurance leadership role as the company continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Process customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Verify PODs and supporting documentation before invoicing.
- Ensure all required shipment documents have been received.
- Track customer payments and remittance information.
- Maintain customer aging reports.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Assist with collection activities and payment inquiries.
- Resolve customer billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate customer billing records.
Accounts Payable & Carrier Settlements
- Review carrier invoices and settlement packages.
- Verify carrier rates against rate confirmations.
- Verify accessorial charges and supporting documents.
- Process carrier settlements accurately and on schedule.
- Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor payment records.
- Coordinate with operations regarding missing paperwork or disputed charges.
Transportation Financial Administration
- Verify load profitability information.
- Audit load files for billing completeness.
- Verify detention, layover, TONU, lumper, refrigeration, and accessorial charges.
- Assist with identifying missed billing opportunities.
- Review settlement accuracy before payment release.
- Support month-end closing activities.
- Assist with financial reconciliations.
- Maintain audit-ready shipment files.
Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain billing reports.
- Maintain accounts receivable aging reports.
- Maintain carrier payment reports.
- Support profitability reporting.
- Prepare routine operational and financial reports for management.
- Assist with data cleanup and record accuracy initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain customer records and financial files.
- Maintain carrier payment documentation.
- Update accounting systems and supporting spreadsheets.
- Organize electronic records and shared drives.
- Monitor accounting email inboxes and respond promptly.
- Support management with special projects and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of continuous transportation accounting, logistics accounting, freight brokerage accounting, or trucking industry accounting experience.
- Experience working within freight brokerage, trucking, 3PL, logistics, or transportation organizations.
- North American transportation industry experience is mandatory.

- Invoice accuracy: 99.5% or higher.
- Customer billing completed within 24 hours of receiving PODs.
- Zero duplicate invoices.
- Complete shipment documentation prior to billing.
Accounts Receivable
- Customer aging reports maintained weekly.
- Collection follow-ups completed on schedule.
- Payment discrepancies resolved promptly.
Accounts Payable
- Carrier settlements processed accurately and on time.
- Zero duplicate carrier payments.
- Settlement discrepancies identified before payment release.
