About the role
We are a technology company that develops business software solutions. As Technical Business Development Executive, you will generate leads, conduct product demonstrations, understand client requirements, coordinate with the development team, and help deliver the right software solutions to our clients.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of sales ability, communication skills, and basic technical knowledge comfortable explaining APIs, SQL and integrations to a non-technical client just as easily as to an IT team.
This role works closely with the development team to translate client requirements into the right product fit, and is central to how we build long-term client relationships and achieve sales targets.
What you will own
Lead generation and business development
- Generate leads and identify new business opportunities across our company products and clients.
- Build a prospect pipeline through outreach, referrals, networking and inbound enquiries.
- Track potential clients and industries where our software solutions add clear value.
- Qualify every lead before it enters the pipeline need, budget, authority, timeline.
Client meetings and product demonstrations
- Conduct client meetings and live software demonstrations.
- Gather and document client requirements clearly and accurately.
- Explain product features and functionality in a way that fits the client's business context.
- Coordinate with developers for technical discussions and feasibility checks.
- Run structured follow-up until the deal is closed.
Proposals and closing
- Prepare proposals and quotations using MS Excel and MS Office.
- Understand the client's actual requirement well enough to recommend the right product not a blanket pitch.
- Handle commercial discussion and negotiation up to the point of closure.
- Close the work and hand over a clean, documented brief to the development team.
- Follow up with clients through the sales cycle and beyond.
Client relationships and account growth
- Build long-term client relationships that go beyond a single sale.
- Maintain sales records and keep the CRM current.
- Achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell products within existing accounts.
Technical coordination
- Coordinate with the development team on technical discussions with clients.
- Use basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge to understand product feasibility.
- Apply understanding of APIs and software integrations while scoping client needs.
- Use SQL and database fundamentals to answer client data questions confidently.
- Translate business requirements into technical solution explanations clients can act on.
CRM, reporting and admin
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date sales records in the CRM.
- Prepare proposals, quotations and reports in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Share regular pipeline and activity updates with the reporting manager.
- Draft client-facing emails, proposals and documents professionally.
- Keep client contact records, meeting notes and follow-up dates current.
Growth in this role
- As you build product and client expertise across our products, you take on larger accounts and more complex deals.
- Strong performers are considered for senior BD or team-lead roles as the function grows.
- This depends entirely on what you deliver during and after probation, not a fixed promise.
What you must bring
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in Business Development, IT Sales, Software Sales, SaaS Sales or B2B Sales.
- Bachelor's degree in B.E./B.Tech (Computer, IT or related field), BCA, B.Sc (Computer Science/IT), BBA, B.Com, or an equivalent bachelor's degree.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Basic understanding of APIs and software integrations.
- Basic understanding of SQL and databases.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to understand business requirements and explain technical solutions clearly.
- Excellent communication in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and client relationship management skills.
Nice to have
- MBA in Marketing, IT or Sales.
- Hands-on experience with a CRM tool for pipeline and account tracking.
- Comfort presenting technical product demos to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new product areas quickly.
- Prior experience in a software or SaaS company selling to B2B clients.
How you will be measured
Targets are agreed in your first week and reviewed monthly. You will be measured on:
- Qualified leads generated and added to the pipeline per month.
- Client meetings and product demonstrations conducted.
- Proposals and quotations issued.
- Deals closed value and count.
- CRM and sales-record hygiene updated, accurate, current.
- Client relationship health and repeat or referral business.
- Overall product knowledge and technical understanding demonstrated in client conversations.
Terms
- Full-time, on-site. Monday to Saturday.
- Three-month probation period from the date of joining.
- During probation, performance, communication skills, product knowledge, technical understanding, professionalism, attendance and overall work quality will be evaluated.
- Upon successful completion of probation, you will be confirmed as a permanent employee, subject to company policies.
- You must have your own laptop for this role.
- Reports to the assigned reporting manager.
Who this role suits
This role suits someone who enjoys client conversations and translating software features into business value. It will not suit someone who avoids client-facing calls, has no interest in learning basic technical concepts (APIs, SQL, integrations), or is not comfortable presenting product demos.
