Roles and Responsibilites:
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly production targets as per customer requirements
- Ensure optimal utilization of GDC machines, furnaces, and manpower
- Monitor production output and ensure adherence to production plans
- Coordinate with PPC (Production Planning & Control) and dispatch teams
2. Process Control & Optimization
- Ensure proper control of gravity die casting processes including melting, pouring, solidification, and die handling
- Monitor critical parameters such as:
- Metal temperature
- Die temperature
- Pouring techniques
- Continuously improve process efficiency and reduce cycle time
3. Quality Assurance
- Ensure production of castings meets customer quality standards and specifications
- Coordinate with Quality team for inspection, rejection analysis, and corrective actions
- Work on reduction of defects such as:
- Porosity
- Shrinkage
- Misrun
- Cold shut
- Implement process improvements to achieve zero-defect production
4. Manpower Management
- Allocate workforce efficiently across shifts
- Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians
- Conduct on-the-job training for workers
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies
5. Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Ensure machines, dies, and furnaces are in proper working condition
- Minimize downtime through effective planning
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to safety norms in foundry operations
- Promote safe handling of molten metal and equipment
- Conduct safety training and enforce use of PPE
- Maintain compliance with statutory and environmental requirements
7. Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor availability of raw materials such as aluminium ingots, alloys, fluxes
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials
- Control wastage and improve material yield
8. Tool & Die Management
- Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and life monitoring of gravity dies
- Coordinate with tool room for die corrections and modifications
- Maintain die records and track performance
9. Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean, Kaizen, and 5S practices in the production area
- Drive productivity improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Analyze production data and identify improvement areas
10. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports, rejection reports, and downtime reports
- Track KPIs such as:
- Production efficiency
- Rejection rate
- Machine utilization
- Report performance to senior management
11. Coordination with Other Departments
- Liaise with:
- Quality team for inspections
- Stores for material availability
- Maintenance for machine upkeep
- HR for manpower and compliance
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
