Job Description – Shift In-Charge – Electrical
Department: Electrical / Engineering Experience: 5–8+ Years Industry: Chocolates & Wafers / FMCG / Food Processing / Manufacturing Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
To ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations during the shift by handling electrical maintenance, PLC, automation, breakdowns and preventive maintenance with minimum downtime.
- Handle day-to-day electrical maintenance activities during the shift.
- Attend and troubleshoot electrical breakdowns to minimize machine downtime.
- Maintain HT/LT panels, MCC, PCC, transformers, DG sets, motors and control panels.
- Troubleshoot PLC, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors and automation systems.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance as per schedule.
- Monitor electrical equipment and ensure maximum machine availability.
- Read and understand electrical drawings, SLDs and control wiring.
- Conduct RCA and CAPA for repeated electrical breakdowns.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for quick breakdown resolution.
- Maintain shift-wise maintenance reports, checklists and equipment history.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with external vendors for electrical/automation-related issues when required.
- Monitor power consumption and support energy-saving initiatives.
- Manage electrical maintenance activities and manpower during the assigned shift.
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of PLC, VFD, HT/LT, MCC, PCC, DG and industrial automation.
- Experience in preventive & breakdown maintenance.
- Knowledge of RCA, CAPA and electrical safety.
- Ability to handle shift operations independently.
- Chocolates, Wafers, FMCG or Food Processing industry experience preferred.
