Extrusion Process Monitoring: Monitor critical parameters during insulation and sheathing, including temperature profiles, screw speed, and line speed.
Visual Surface Inspection: Continuously check the cable surface for defects such as lumps, scratches, rough patches, or pinholes during extrusion.
Dimensional Checks: Measure online/offline dimensions including outer diameter (OD), wall thickness, and concentricity using laser gauges and micrometers.
Spark Testing: Monitor online spark testers to detect insulation breakdowns, pinholes, or weak spots in real-time.
Lay-Length Verification: Check twisting, stranding, and armoring processes to ensure the correct lay-length and pitch of the conductors.
First-Piece & Last-Piece Inspection: Inspect and approve the first sample of a production batch and verify the final sample before winding/packaging.
Defect Segregation: Immediately halt production or isolate non-conforming batches when dimensions or properties fall outside specified tolerances.
In-Process Documentation: Maintain hourly logs, process parameter charts, and production route sheets to ensure complete traceability.
Root Cause Assistance: Assist production teams in identifying the root cause of defects (e.g., centering issues, temperature fluctuations) to minimize scrap.
