Role Description
The Part-Time Lecturer in Mathematics will teach postgraduate-level courses that support the quantitative foundations of synthetic biology and biomanufacturing. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, designing problem sets and assessments, and providing constructive feedback on student work. This is a part-time, on-site role based at CVJ-CSB, CUSAT, Kochi, India.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core mathematics (e.g., calculus, linear algebra, differential equations) and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse learners.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring mathematics in a higher education or comparable setting, with effective classroom management and assessment skills.
- Ability to relate mathematical concepts to applications in science, engineering, or biotechnology; familiarity with quantitative aspects of synthetic biology or biomanufacturing is an advantage.
- Proficiency with educational tools and technologies (e.g., learning management systems, presentation software, online assessment platforms) to support high-quality instruction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered teaching practices.
- Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics or a closely related field; a Ph.D. and prior experience in interdisciplinary or STEM-focused programs are preferred.
Pay: ₹600.00 - ₹700.00 per hour
