We are seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team, specializing in both Chinese and Continental (Western) culinary styles. You will work under the guidance of senior chefs, assisting in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and hygiene.Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation (Mise en Place): Assist in washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and storing ingredients for both Chinese and Continental dishes.
- Cooking & Execution: Prepare and cook assigned dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines for both cuisines (e.g., stir-fries, noodles, grills for Chinese; sauces, roasts, pasta for Continental).
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain impeccable personal and workstation hygiene, follow all food safety regulations (HACCP), and ensure proper food labeling/storage.
- Station Management: Keep assigned kitchen section clean, organized, and stocked, including managing daily requisitions.
- Support: Assist senior chefs during service, manage kitchen tasks efficiently, and contribute to a smooth, high-quality service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role (0-2 years).
- Basic knowledge and skills in Chinese cooking techniques (wok, steaming, frying) and Continental/Western cuisine.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
