An Elevator Maintenance Technician (also known as an Elevator troubleshooter) is responsible for the installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance of elevators,and other lift systems. It is a highly technical role that blends mechanical engineering, electrical circuitry, and safety compliance.
Core Responsibilities
1. Routine Maintenance & Inspection
- Preventative Care: Perform regularly scheduled maintenance to ensure equipment meets safety regulations and operating standards.
- Lubrication & Tuning: Oil and grease moving parts, adjust counterweights, and fine-tune door mechanisms for smooth operation.
- Safety Testing: Conduct periodic tests on brakes, governors, and emergency standby systems.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnostics: Use flowcharts, computer programs, and multimeters to diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic systems or complex electrical control boards.
- Part Replacement: Replace worn-out components such as cables, pulleys, motors, and electronic sensors.
- Emergency Response: Respond to "shut-down" calls or entrapments to safely extract passengers and restore service.
3. Modernization & Installation
- System Upgrades: Remove outdated components and install modern, energy-efficient control systems and motors in older buildings.
- Reading Blueprints: Interpret electrical schematics and architectural drawings to ensure precise installation.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
