Job Summary
The Primary Mother Teacher is responsible for the overall academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of students in the primary grades (Classes I–V) in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. As the primary class teacher, the Mother Teacher delivers instruction across multiple subjects, creates a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, and serves as the main point of contact for students and parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum across core primary subjects.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the holistic development of every child.
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, teaching-learning materials, and classroom displays.
- Assess student learning through classwork, assignments, projects, observations, and periodic assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic progress, and student portfolios.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or emotional support and provide appropriate interventions.
- Promote values, life skills, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking through classroom activities.
- Integrate technology and activity-based learning strategies to enhance student engagement.
- Manage classroom discipline positively and encourage respectful behavior and responsible citizenship.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and well-being.
- Organize and participate in assemblies, celebrations, field trips, co-curricular activities, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
- Participate in professional development programs, workshops, and staff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE guidelines, school policies, and child safeguarding practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
- CTET or State TET qualification is preferred, where applicable.
- Prior experience in a CBSE primary school is desirable.
