About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Purchase Executive to manage freight procurement activities across ocean, air, and land transportation. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs, transporters, and freight forwarders, enabling them to secure competitive rates and reliable service solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure competitive freight rates from shipping lines, NVOCCs, airlines, transporters, and overseas agents.
- Negotiate freight contracts, spot rates, and service agreements to maximize profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics service providers.
- Compare quotations and select the most cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
- Monitor market trends, freight rate fluctuations, vessel schedules, and carrier capacities.
- Coordinate with sales and operations teams to support customer quotations and shipment execution.
- Ensure timely rate procurement for RFQs, tenders, and spot inquiries.
- Maintain an updated database of carrier contacts, tariffs, and service offerings.
- Analyze freight spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Resolve carrier-related issues, including space availability, equipment shortages, and service disruptions.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and market intelligence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in freight purchasing, logistics procurement, freight forwarding, or shipping operations.
- Strong understanding of ocean freight, air freight, inland transportation, and international trade.
- Experience negotiating with major shipping lines and logistics providers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and freight management systems.
Preferred Skills
- Existing network with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and freight forwarding partners.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight quotation deadlines.
- Strong commercial acumen and cost-control mindset.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documentation, and international logistics processes.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹60,000 per month (depending on experience and performance)
