Position Overview:
The Application Engineer creates accurate technical drawings and 2D/3D models of mechanical and civil engineering equipment. This role involves using CAD software and collaborating with engineers, project teams, clients, and architects to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Drawing & Layout Creation:
- Complete Understanding of the Project is a must.

Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and 2D models of mechanical equipment using AutoCAD 2D/3D to scale.

Incorporate Safety Sign/Notes in All Drawings.

Ensuring all details are mentioned in the drawing, & Information about the scope of work is given to clients.

Ensure accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, materials, and other technical specifications in all drawings.

Develop design documentation and schematic layouts for mechanical systems based on project specifications and requirements.

Ensuring precision in the drawing with zero or minimal repetition of work.
Data Collection & Integration:

Collect initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers, clients, and stakeholders.

Integrate all relevant data into cohesive and complete initial design models, preparing them for review and modification.

Ensuring that Drawing is explained to the Site Engineer.

Keep Improvising on Drawings Based on Site Experiences.
Verification of Specifications:

Double-check all numerical designations, specifications, and measurements with CAD tools and manual calculations as needed.
-
Ensure designs meet industry standards, client specifications, and safety regulations.
Piping & Equipment Layout:

Prepare detailed piping layout drawings, including working out the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for pipes and fittings.

Develop equipment layouts and complete plant room drawings for all types of engineering projects.
Documentation Preparation:

Prepare all necessary documents related to the design process, such as:
-
Errorless Bar Charts.
-
Datasheets
-
Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
-
As-built drawings
-
Operation manuals
-
A1/A2 Size Frames to be kept in the plant room.
Cost Optimisation:

Suggest and implement improvements to engineering designs to make them more cost-effective without compromising quality, safety, or performance.
Client & Consultant Interaction:

Communicate with clients, architects, and consultants to discuss design specifications, updates, and drawing modifications.

Participate in meetings and design reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.
Project Support & Documentation:

Provide backend support to the project team regarding documentation, material procurement, and project updates.

Maintain project update sheets and bar charts to track the progress and ensure timely project completion.
Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate with draftsmen, sales personnel, and other team members to ensure drawings are completed within the designated time frame

Maintain open lines of communication with internal teams to resolve any design-related issues or discrepancies.
Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all designs meet required standards, codes, and regulations.

Perform regular reviews and revisions of drawings and designs as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Master Skill:

Expertise in Engineering Design with a strong focus on drafting and technical drawing.

Deep understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
Software Operating Skill:

Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D software for creating precise and detailed designs.
