Manage the complete HR and Admin activities of the garment manufacturing unit, including recruitment, manpower planning, employee management, payroll coordination, statutory compliance and factory administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle recruitment of tailors, helpers, operators and other production staff as per manpower requirements.
- Coordinate with Production to understand daily and monthly manpower requirements.
- Conduct interviews, skill assessments and joining formalities.
- Maintain a database of skilled and experienced tailors.
- Maintain tailor grading and skill records based on experience and performance.
- Handle employee attendance, leave and absenteeism.
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing and provide accurate payroll inputs.
- Manage PF, ESIC, Professional Tax and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Maintain employee records, appointment letters, ID cards and other HR documentation.
- Handle employee grievances, discipline and workplace issues.
- Conduct employee induction and explain company policies and rules.
- Coordinate employee training and skill-development programmes.
- Monitor employee retention and take initiatives to reduce attrition.
- Handle Full & Final settlements and exit formalities.
- Coordinate with manpower agencies/contractors whenever required.
- Manage factory administration, including housekeeping, security, employee facilities, stationery and other administrative requirements.
- Maintain HR reports such as manpower, attendance, recruitment, attrition, overtime and payroll reports.
- Support internal and external audits related to HR and statutory compliance.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures suitable for the garment manufacturing unit.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and company policies.
- Coordinate with Management, Production, Finance and other departments for smooth operations.
- Handle any other HR and administrative responsibilities assigned by Management.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in HR will be an added advantage.
Experience & Skills
- 10-12 years of HR experience, preferably in garment/textile manufacturing.
- Experience in hiring tailors and production workers is preferred.
- Good knowledge of PF, ESIC, payroll and labour compliance.
- Good communication and employee-handling skills.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and HR documentation.
- Ability to independently manage factory HR & Admin activities.
- Should be proactive, practical and comfortable working with blue-collar employees.
