This role focuses on GPS tracking devices, IoT communications, telematics data, and device integrations.
You will work alongside our PHP/Flutter development team and assist in building the infrastructure required to support real-time tracking, alerts, reporting, and future telematics products.
Key Responsibilities
Device Integration
Integrate GPS tracking devices with Transrec's platform
Analyse and understand device communication protocols
Configure and test tracking devices
Support integration of new hardware models
IoT & Telematics Development
Work with TCP/IP communication protocols
Assist in building device communication services
Process and validate incoming GPS and telemetry data
Assist with geofencing, alerts, trip history, and event processing
Support development of real-time tracking systems
Technical Research
Research new GPS tracking devices and telematics technologies
Analyse device protocol documentation
Recommend hardware and software improvements
Assist in testing and validating new device integrations
Platform Support
Work with the software development team to improve tracking functionality
Assist with troubleshooting device communication issues
Support customers and installers with advanced technical issues when required
Required Skills
2+ years experience in IoT, GPS Tracking, Telematics, Embedded Systems, or related fields
Understanding of TCP/IP networking
Understanding of GPS tracking concepts
Knowledge of communication protocols
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Basic programming knowledge in any language (Python, PHP, Java, C#, Node.js, etc.)
Understanding of APIs and data integration
