Role overview
An experienced SAP Order-to-Cash lead consultant is required with deep expertise across SAP SD, Logistics Execution (LE), and Warehouse Management (WM) to drive complex solution ownership across order capture, fulfillment, outbound logistics, warehouse execution, and production-adjacent supply-chain processes for a global dairy and nutrition enterprise. The role is positioned beyond steady-state support and requires strong capability in enterprise process harmonization, template governance, cross-functional solution architecture, large-scale incident stabilization, and continuous improvement across ECC and S/4HANA-oriented landscapes.
The consultant is expected to operate as a senior functional lead across business, IT, and vendor teams, combining hands-on configuration depth with programme-level leadership in design governance, integration orchestration, release planning, cutover readiness, and post-go-live optimization.
Key responsibilities
§ Own end-to-end SAP O2C process design across inquiry, quotation, sales order management, pricing, ATP, batch determination, delivery processing, shipment execution, billing, returns, claims, and settlement management.
§ Lead advanced SAP SD configuration including condition technique, pricing procedures, free goods, listing/exclusion, output determination, credit management, customer hierarchies, partner determination, incompletion procedures, copy controls, and intercompany process design.
§ Drive LE and WM solution ownership for outbound logistics, warehouse structure design, storage type/search strategies, wave and picking logic, packing, staging, route and shipment planning, transportation relevance, and inventory traceability for perishable and batch-managed products.
§ Design and optimize warehouse execution processes supporting FEFO, shelf-life management, quality-hold stock, recall scenarios, blocked stock handling, and high-throughput picking models across plant and distribution environments.
§ Lead integration design across SD, LE, WM, MM, PP, FI, CO, QM, and external platforms including 3PLs, carriers, customer EDI networks, and warehouse/RF systems using IDoc- and interface-based transaction flows.
§ Act as the primary functional escalation point for production-critical incidents, recurring defects, systemic process failures, and cross-module data inconsistencies, with structured root-cause analysis and preventive action planning.
§ Prepare high-quality functional specifications for RICEFW objects, enhancements, forms, interfaces, workflows, reports, and conversion requirements; govern delivery quality with ABAP, BASIS, security, and middleware teams.
§ Lead SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, release validation, mock cutovers, deployment planning, hypercare command-center support, and knowledge transition into business-as-usual support.
§ Partner with business stakeholders to define template standards, process KPIs, control points, and harmonized ways of working across multiple business units, plants, warehouses, and sales channels.
§ Support business transformation initiatives such as ECC-to-S/4HANA migration, process standardization, warehouse modernization, EWM readiness assessment, and continuous improvement of O2C service levels.
§ Mentor junior consultants and analysts, review solution designs, enforce documentation standards, and provide leadership in workshops, fit-gap sessions, and decision forums.
Mandatory skills
SAP SD
§ Deep hands-on expertise in order-to-cash design including sales documents, item categories, schedule line categories, pricing architecture, billing plans, account determination, credit processes, returns management, and integration touchpoints with finance and supply chain.
§ Strong experience in complex pricing, rebates/settlement constructs, customer-specific agreements, promotional scenarios, and exception handling in high-volume order environments.
SAP LE and WM
§ Strong functional capability in deliveries, picking, packing, shipment processing, transportation, output management, transfer orders, bin-level stock control, replenishment logic, RF/handheld-enabled execution, and warehouse performance optimization.
§ Proven experience supporting warehouse processes for batch-managed, shelf-life-sensitive, and traceability-controlled products.
Integration and architecture
§ Strong working knowledge of IDoc/EDI processes for orders, ASNs, deliveries, invoices, and partner communication, including interface monitoring, failure analysis, and reconciliation controls.
§ Ability to work across SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes and coordinate with middleware, master-data, and reporting teams on enterprise integration dependencies.
Implementation and leadership
§ Proven experience in at least two full-lifecycle implementations, major rollouts, or transformation programmes in SAP O2C, with additional ownership in AMS stabilization or global support engagements.
§ Demonstrated ability to lead design workshops, challenge business requirements, translate process needs into scalable SAP solutions, and govern delivery across onsite, offshore, and vendor teams.
§ Strong experience with release management, change governance, defect prioritization, cutover planning, hypercare leadership, and service transition.
Domain expectations
§ Experience in dairy, food, nutrition, FMCG, or adjacent process-manufacturing sectors with high order volumes, short shelf life, regulated inventory handling, and strong traceability requirements.
§ Clear understanding of multi-channel fulfillment models including retail, wholesale, distributor, export, and direct-to-customer operations.
§ Practical knowledge of recall management, returns, quality segregation, and logistics constraints associated with perishable goods.
Preferred qualifications
§ SAP S/4HANA SD experience, ECC migration exposure, and awareness of embedded or decentralized EWM models are strongly preferred.
§ SAP Activate, Agile delivery, ITIL-based support operations, and experience working in multi-vendor global programmes are desirable.
§ Certification in SAP SD or related logistics modules is a plus.
Soft skills
§ Excellent stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, structured communication, and executive-level documentation capability.
§ Strong analytical problem solving, ownership mindset, delivery discipline, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced global support and transformation environment.
§ Ability to balance strategic solution thinking with detailed configuration execution and production support rigor.
