Vice President of Product Development

I. Role Summary
We are seeking a Vice President of Product Development with extensive experience in product development, R&D management, product strategy, technological innovation, and commercialization.
This role is responsible for overseeing the company's product development ecosystem, translating corporate strategy, customer needs, and market opportunities into product roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle—from conceptual design to official launch and continuous iteration.
The VP of Product Development must collaborate closely with the CPO, CTO, CMO, as well as sales, customer success, and operations teams, ensuring that product development direction aligns with market demands, customer value, and corporate business objectives.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development Strategy
Formulate the company's product development strategy;
Establish medium- to long-term product development plans;
Determine product development priorities based on corporate strategy;
Develop product roadmaps;
Balance customer needs, market opportunities, and technical capabilities;
Ensure product development aligns with the company's overall strategy.
2. Product Roadmap Management
Develop product roadmaps;
Manage the product lifecycle;
Prioritize product features and release versions;
Adjust development plans in response to market changes;
Establish mechanisms for reviewing product requirements;
Ensure products are developed and launched according to schedule.
3. Product Requirements and Market Analysis
Analyze customer needs and industry trends;
Establish customer feedback loops with sales and customer success teams;
Research competitor products;
Identify new product opportunities;
Translate market needs into product requirements;
Drive product-market fit.
4. Product R&D Management
Lead product development and R&D teams;
Manage product managers, product designers, and relevant R&D personnel;
Establish standardized product development processes;
Optimize the allocation of R&D resources;
Oversee product development progress;
Ensure product quality and delivery efficiency. 5. Cross-functional Product Development
Coordinate the following teams to jointly execute product development:

Establish a comprehensive cross-functional collaboration mechanism spanning from product concept to commercialization.
6. Product Innovation
Establish a product innovation mechanism;
Monitor technology trends such as AI, data analytics, cloud computing, and blockchain;
Evaluate the application of new technologies within products;
Drive the development of new products and features;
Initiate product innovation projects;
Enhance the company's product competitiveness.
7. Product Launch and Commercialization
Formulate product launch plans;
Develop go-to-market strategies in collaboration with product marketing teams;
Support product positioning and business model design;
Coordinate product launch preparations;
Create product launch checklists;
Track post-launch market performance.
8. Product Quality and Continuous Improvement
Establish product quality management mechanisms;
Monitor product defects and customer feedback;
Define product performance metrics;
Drive continuous product iteration;
Analyze product usage data;
Improve product stability and user experience.
9. Product Data Analysis
Establish a product analytics framework;
Analyze product usage rates and feature adoption rates;
Monitor key product KPIs;
Analyze user behavior;
Identify product optimization opportunities through data;
Provide data-driven support for product decision-making.
10. Team Building and Talent Management
Build a global product development organization;
Recruit and develop senior product talent;
Establish a product management talent pipeline;
Define team performance metrics;
Create product development training systems;
Foster an innovative, efficient, and customer-centric product culture.
III. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field;
MBA, MS, or advanced education in technology/management is preferred.
Work Experience
20+ years of experience in product development, product management, R&D, or technology-related roles;
10+ years of experience in senior product or R&D management;
Experience as VP of Product Development, VP of Product, Head of Product, Senior Director of Product, or at an equivalent level;
Experience with enterprise, B2B, SaaS, or complex technical products;
Experience managing the full product lifecycle;
Experience in global product development or managing cross-regional teams is preferred. 4. Core Competencies
