Responsibilities:
1. Business Development
- Promote and sell shaped refractories such as MgO-C bricks and AMC bricks.
- Promote and sell unshaped refractories including basic gunning mass, castables, DVM for tundish, and concreting materials.
- Participate in RFQs, technical discussions, and customer trials to support business growth.
2. Application & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor refractory performance in steel and hot metal ladles (metal zone, slag zone, bottom).
- Oversee applications in EOF/EAF/BOF vessels.
- Evaluate tundish working lining performance (DVM, spray mass, castable).
- Support torpedo ladle and RH degasser refractory applications.
- Conduct post-mortem analysis and implement life improvement initiatives.
- Track consumption trends (kg/ton) and recommend optimization strategies.
3. Trial Management & Technical Support
- Plan, execute, and monitor refractory trials at customer sites.
- Coordinate installation activities including brick lining, gunning, casting, and dry-out processes.
- Troubleshoot operational and application issue and provide corrective actions.
4. Customer Relationship & Coordination
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with steel melting shop (SMS) operations, refractory maintenance, and procurement teams.
- Act as a single point of contact between customers and internal technical/manufacturing teams.
- Provide regular technical reports, performance reviews, and feedback to customers.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed trial reports, performance evaluations, and technical presentations.
- Maintain data on lining life, refractory consumption, and cost per ton of steel.
Support marketing and sales teams with case studies and technical insights.

Profile/Competencies:
Essential:
- Diploma or Graduation in Engineering (preferably Metallurgy / Ceramic / Mechanical).
- 5–6 years of experience in steel refractory technical sales or application roles.
- Strong knowledge of steel melting shop (SMS) refractory practices and failure mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience in gunning, casting, and brick lining supervision.
- Good understanding of steelmaking processes (Ladle, EOF, EAF/BOF, Tundish, RH, Torpedo).
- Ability to analyse refractory wear patterns and recommend solutions.
- Strong communication and technical presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
Preferred:
- Prior on-site experience in integrated steel plants.
- Experience in handling customer trials and performance optimization projects.
- Exposure to cost optimization and refractory consumption reduction initiatives.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting systems.
