Job Description: STP Supervisor
Industry: Environmental / Water & Wastewater Treatment
Role Summary
The STP Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of Sewage Treatment Plant on site. You’ll ensure the plant runs 24x7, meets discharge norms, and the team follows safety + SOPs. You report to the Maintenance Head / Plant In-charge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Monitoring
· Supervise shift operations of STP: bar screen, grit chamber, aeration tank, clarifier, SBR/MBBR, sludge dewatering, UF/RO
· Monitor SCADA/PLC parameters: DO, MLSS, pH, flow, blower pressure, power consumption
· Take hourly log readings and ensure treated water quality meets CPCB/SPCB discharge standards
2. Maintenance & Breakdown Handling
· Coordinate daily preventive maintenance: greasing, lubrication, filter cleaning
· Attend breakdowns of pumps, blowers, diffusers, valves with technicians
· Raise work orders and follow up for spare parts with stores
3. Team Management
· Lead a team of 4-8 operators, technicians, and helpers across shifts
· Assign duties, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure PPE compliance
· Train operators on SOPs, safety, and basic troubleshooting
4. Compliance & Documentation
· Maintain logbooks: energy, chemical, sludge, water quality test reports
· Support internal audits and regulatory inspections
· Prepare daily/weekly reports for Maintenance Head and Client
5. Housekeeping & Safety
· Ensure plant cleanliness, chemical handling safety, and LOTO practices
· Identify unsafe conditions and report to EHS
· Minimize chemical and power wastage
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering. B.E freshers with plant exposure also considered
Experience: 3-6 years hands-on experience in STP O&M.
Experience with SBR, MBBR, ASP preferred
Must have worked in Industrial, Commercial, or Municipal STP of 0.5 MLD to 10 MLD capacity
Required Skills
· Practical knowledge of STP process, equipment, and troubleshooting
· Basic electrical knowledge: motor, starter, MCC panel
· Computer basics + MS Excel for daily reports
· Ability to work in 3 shifts including night shifts
· Strong leadership, discipline, and communication in local language + English/Hindi
· Valid safety training is a plus
Location: Mumbai/Borivali/Navi Mumbai
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
