Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Automation & Middleware Engineer to design, build, and support automation solutions across Windows and Linux platforms. This role focuses on scripting and orchestration (PowerShell, Shell, Ansible, GitHub Actions, OLAM), middleware administration (IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic), and AWS infrastructure components (ALB/NLB, VPC, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Security Groups).
Key Responsibilities :
- Build and maintain automation workflows using GitHub, GitHub Actions, PowerShell, Shell scripting, and Ansible playbooks (including reusable, modular playbooks/roles).
- Develop scripts and runbooks to automate troubleshooting, health checks, log collection, and first-level remediation steps for middleware and infrastructure issues.
- Automate middleware platforms troubleshooting across Windows and Linux, including:
o Microsoft IIS
o Apache HTTP Server
o Tomcat
o Oracle WebLogic
- Partner closely with Automation, Middleware Infrastructure Support, and Platform teams to design solutions, validate standards, and coordinate deployments/changes.
- Automate AWS infrastructure components discovery including:
o ALB, NLB, listener rules, target groups
o VPC, subnets, routing/security concepts
o EC2, S3, CloudWatch
o Security Groups
- Strong infrastructure and networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing concepts, and F5 Load Balancers
- Work within ITSM processes using ServiceNow (SNOW):
o Incident Management
o Change Management
- Produce clear technical documentation, automation runbooks, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with:
o PowerShell scripting
o Linux/Unix shell scripting
o Ansible playbook development
- Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems (administration, troubleshooting, performance basics).
- Middleware experience across both Windows and Linux environments with IIS, Apache, Tomcat, and WebLogic.
- Strong troubleshooting capability with an automation-first mindset (ability to convert manual troubleshooting steps into scripts/workflows).
- Strong working knowledge of GitHub, including:
o Repositories, branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews
o GitHub Actions workflows (pipelines, runners, secrets, approvals)
- Infrastructure fundamentals:
o F5 Load Balancers, DNS, and general network concepts
o Strong understanding of three-tier architecture
- Hands-on experience with AWS, specifically:
o ALB/NLB, listeners, target groups, routing behavior
o VPC, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Security Groups
- Experience using ServiceNow for Incident/Change/Problem processes.
- Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Oracle Linux Automation Manager (OLAM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (must-have).
