Process Design Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Process Design Engineer to develop and optimize process solutions for water and wastewater treatment projects. The candidate will be responsible for process design, detailed engineering, proposal preparation, equipment sizing, and technical support throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process designs for Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP).
- Prepare process design calculations, mass balance, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
- Develop and review P&IDs, process datasheets, equipment specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including BOQs, cost estimations, and tender documentation.
- Select and specify process equipment such as pumps, blowers, filters, clarifiers, membranes, dosing systems, and other treatment units.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Procurement, and Project teams during engineering and project execution.
- Review engineering documents and ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support during procurement, installation, commissioning, and performance testing.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing treatment systems to improve operational efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and site visits to understand project requirements and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new technologies and process innovations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in process design for water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Strong knowledge of WTP, STP, ETP, UF, RO, MBR, MBBR, SBR, and other water treatment technologies.
- Experience in process calculations, equipment sizing, hydraulic design, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and process design/calculation software.
- Ability to prepare technical proposals, engineering reports, and design documentation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial and municipal water/wastewater treatment projects.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and design standards.
- Familiarity with EPC project execution and commissioning activities.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong client-facing and presentation skills.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹720,000.00 per year
