We are a fast-growing FMCG startup disrupting the packaged curd market in Bangalore. Our mission is to deliver fresh, quality packaged curd to retailers across the city through a lean, efficient distribution network. We're looking for field hustlers who can build direct relationships with shop owners and drive retail penetration.
The Role
As a Field Sales Representative, you will be the face of our brand in your assigned retail territory. Your primary responsibility is to visit multiple retail outlets, build strong relationships with shopkeepers, and drive product availability and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with shop owners and staff
- Order Management: Take orders, ensure timely product placement, and track inventory at retail points
- Market Intelligence: Report on competitor activity, pricing, and local market trends
- Sales Target Achievement: Meet weekly and monthly sales targets for product units and revenue
- Issue Resolution: Address shop owner concerns and payment issues on the spot
- Field Reporting: Submit daily activity reports (visits, orders, issues) via app or phone
Mandatory Requirements
The following are non-negotiable:
- Valid Driving License – Current and valid two-wheeler driving license
- Personal Two-Wheeler – Own bike or scooty (for field mobility)
- Communication Skills – Fluent in Hindi/Kannada/English; confident in direct customer conversations
- Local Knowledge – Familiarity with Bangalore geography and retail landscape is a plus
Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Qualifications)
- 1 year of field sales, retail, or FMCG distribution experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple retail accounts
- Track record of meeting sales targets
- Comfortable with daily field travel and outdoor work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in FMCG, dairy, or packaged food category
- Existing relationships with retail shopkeepers in Bangalore
- Basic data entry and mobile app literacy
- Two-wheeler license with riding experience
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: ₹16,000 – ₹30,000/month + Performance Incentives
Work Schedule & Flexibility
Note: This is a field-based role with significant travel time. Candidates must be comfortable with outdoor work and variable field conditions.
What Success Looks Like (In 3 Months)
- Independently manage 40-50 retail outlets in assigned zone
- Build rapport with at least 80% of assigned shop owners
- Achieve 90%+ order fulfillment rate week-on-week
- Maintain 100% accuracy in daily activity reporting
- Zero payment delays or reconciliation issues
