About the Role
Fortune Gourmet Specialities is looking for an accomplished Head - Supply Chain to lead end-to-end supply chain operations from its Mumbai office. The role owns planning, procurement, warehousing, logistics, and distribution strategy across the organization, ensuring product availability, cost efficiency, and service excellence in a fast-moving food and gourmet specialities business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead the end-to-end supply chain strategy covering demand planning, procurement, production planning, warehousing, and distribution.
- Own the supply chain P&L, driving cost optimization across freight, warehousing, and inventory carrying costs.
- Lead demand forecasting and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes in coordination with sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams.
- Manage sourcing and procurement strategy for raw materials and packaging, ensuring quality, cost, and continuity of supply.
- Oversee the national distribution network, warehousing infrastructure, and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships.
- Drive inventory optimization to balance service levels with working capital efficiency, minimizing stock-outs and obsolescence.
- Implement and monitor supply chain KPIs including fill rate, order-to-delivery lead time, inventory turns, and logistics cost as a percentage of sales.
- Ensure regulatory and food-safety compliance across storage, handling, and transportation of products.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing supply chain team across planning, procurement, warehousing, and logistics functions.
- Drive digitization and automation initiatives (ERP, WMS, TMS) to improve visibility and efficiency across the supply chain.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to align supply chain strategy with business goals.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, building contingency plans for demand volatility and supply disruptions.
Candidate Requirements
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably in FMCG, food processing, or gourmet/specialty food businesses.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- Proven track record of managing multi-location warehousing and distribution networks at a national or regional level.
- Strong experience in demand planning, S&OP, procurement, and logistics management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and supply chain planning tools.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Willingness to travel across manufacturing and distribution locations as required.
