Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the planning, design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and operation support of electrical systems associated with Water Supply Schemes (WSS), Wastewater Systems, Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Pumping Stations, Lift Stations, and SCADA-integrated projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design & Engineering
- Prepare electrical designs for WTP, STP, Pumping Stations, Booster Stations, OHTs, and Lift Stations.
- Design HT and LT power distribution systems.
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD).
- Design and review MCC, PCC, APFC, VFD, and control panels.
- Perform load calculations and cable sizing calculations.
- Design transformer and DG set requirements.
- Design internal and external lighting systems.
- Design earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Prepare electrical design reports and engineering calculations.
2. Pumping Station Electrical Systems
- Selection of motors for pumps and blowers.
- Preparation of motor schedules.
- Design motor control schemes.
- Selection of VFDs and soft starters.
- Review pump electrical requirements and starting current calculations.
- Design standby power arrangements.
3. WTP & STP Electrical Systems
Experience in electrical design for:
- Raw Water Pumping Stations
- Clear Water Pumping Stations
- Clariflocculators
- Filtration Systems
- Chlorination Systems
- Aeration Systems
- Blowers
- Sludge Handling Systems
- Chemical Dosing Systems
- Dewatering Systems
4. Drawings & Documentation
Prepare and review:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Cable Routing Drawings
- Cable Schedules
- Earthing Layouts
- Lighting Layouts
- Panel GA Drawings
- Electrical Room Layouts
- Equipment Layouts
Additional responsibilities:
- Prepare technical specifications and BOQs.
- Prepare cost estimates and electrical documentation.
- Maintain project engineering records.
5. Site Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and SCADA teams.
- Attend site inspections and project review meetings.
- Verify electrical installations as per approved drawings.
- Support testing and commissioning activities.
- Prepare punch lists and closure reports.
- Support project execution and handover activities.
6. Testing & Commissioning
Experience in testing and commissioning of:
- Transformers
- DG Sets
- Motors
- VFD Systems
- Protection Relays
- Earthing Systems
- SCADA Communication Systems
Responsibilities include:
- Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Verify electrical equipment performance and compliance.
7. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with:
- IS Standards
- IEC Standards
- CEA Regulations
- Electricity Board Requirements
- CPHEEO Guidelines
- TWAD Board / Municipal Corporation Specifications
Ensure implementation of electrical safety procedures at project sites.
Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE).
- M.E / M.Tech in Power Systems (Preferred).
Experience RequiredElectrical Design Engineer
- 3–5 years of experience in Water Supply Projects, WTP, STP, Pumping Stations, or SCADA-integrated projects.
Senior Electrical Engineer
- 10–15 years of experience in large infrastructure projects involving WTP, STP, SCADA, Pumping Systems, Electrical Design, Testing, and Commissioning.
