We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Pastry Chef to lead the pastry and bakery section. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality desserts, pastries, cakes, breads, and baked products while ensuring food safety, consistency, and efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and bakery products.
- Develop and standardize recipes to maintain consistent quality and taste.
- Supervise and guide pastry kitchen staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the stores department for ingredient requirements.
- Control food costs, minimize wastage, and maintain production efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of bakery equipment.
- Create seasonal and promotional dessert menus for café and food outlets.
- Ensure timely production based on daily sales forecasts and business requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Hotel Management.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in pastry and bakery production, preferably in malls, cinemas, hotels, cafés, or restaurants.
- Strong knowledge of cakes, pastries, artisan breads, desserts, chocolates, and bakery techniques.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Leadership, team management, and inventory control skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
