Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Fashion Designer with a focus on Kids Wear. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing children’s clothing or Men’s clothing, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating fun, comfortable, and stylish garments. You will be responsible for the entire design process, from concept to final product, ensuring that each piece aligns with The House of Rare’s brand aesthetics and meets market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Create original, innovative, and trendsetting kids wear collections, ensuring designs are age-appropriate, comfortable, and stylish.
Market Research: Stay updated on fashion trends, materials, and competitor products to ensure our collections are competitive and appealing.
Conceptualization: Develop design concepts, mood boards, and sketches that align with the brand’s vision and target market.
Technical Specifications: Prepare detailed tech packs including fabric choices, colors, trims, and construction details for sampling and production.
Collaboration: Work closely with the production team, merchandisers, and buyers to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
Fitting and Sampling: Oversee the fitting sessions, provide feedback on prototypes, and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired fit and look.
Quality Control: Ensure all designs meet the brand's quality standards, from initial concept through to final production.
Presentation: Present design ideas and concepts to the creative director and other stakeholders for approval.
Trend Analysis: Analyze market trends and sales data to inform future collections and design strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Kids Wear design.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
Strong understanding of children's fashion trends, fabrics, and garment construction.
Excellent sketching and illustration skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for color, texture, and form.
Team player with a proactive attitude.
