About the Role
Edify International School, Kalaburagi, is seeking passionate, student-centric, and experienced Homeroom Teachers to nurture the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of primary school students. The Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for delivering integrated learning experiences, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and serving as the primary point of contact for parents.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects including English, Mathematics, EVS, and Social Studies.
- Prepare annual, monthly, weekly, and daily lesson plans aligned with CBSE curriculum.
- Implement activity-based, experiential, and inquiry-driven teaching methodologies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
- Conduct assessments, maintain records, and analyze student performance data.
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Establish classroom routines and behavioral expectations.
- Foster student engagement, collaboration, and independent learning.
- Ensure discipline and promote positive student behavior.
- Maintain classroom displays, resources, and learning materials.
Student Development
- Monitor and support students' academic, emotional, and social growth.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or emotional support.
- Encourage leadership, creativity, and life skills development.
- Promote values, character education, and overall well-being.
Parent Communication
- Act as the primary liaison between school and parents.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Share regular updates regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance, assessment records, report cards, and student portfolios.
- Prepare academic reports and documentation as required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Assist in organizing assemblies, competitions, field trips, and co-curricular activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- B.Ed./D.El.Ed. (Mandatory).
- Preference for candidates with specialization in English, Mathematics, Science, or Primary Education.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Primary/Homeroom Teacher in a CBSE school.
- Experience in handling Grades 1–5 preferred.
- Residential school experience will be an added advantage.
