As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing conveyor systems and related components. You will work closely with the production and sales teams to develop cost-effective, functional, and innovative designs that meet customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design conveyor systems (inclined, flat, roller, etc.) using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Develop 2D/3D models, detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation.
- Customize designs based on client requirements and site conditions.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-efficient.
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients or the shop floor.
- Conduct load calculations and basic mechanical analysis to ensure structural integrity.
- Work with the procurement team to ensure the availability of standard and custom parts.
- Participate in product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design files.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyors or industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 2D/3D CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, fabrication processes, and material selection.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into effective designs.
- Knowledge of industrial standards, GD&T, and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
