Why this role exists
This role exists to build early-career talent in Light Gauge Steel Framing, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, and construction technology workflows. The role is designed for freshers who are eager to learn how digital models, drawings, coordination processes, and fabrication-ready deliverables support real construction projects.
When this role is performed well, freshers develop strong technical foundations, contribute to accurate project deliverables, support senior team members effectively, and gradually grow into independent project contributors. This role helps create a pipeline of skilled engineers who can support scalable, quality-driven delivery across LGSF and prefab-focused projects.
What You Will Learn and Support
Project Delivery and Modeling Support
-
Support the development of accurate 3D models for Light Gauge Steel Framing using Revit, MWF/Tekla, or similar tools.
-
Assist in preparing model views, shop drawings, basic schedules, and project documentation under guidance from team members.
-
Learn to read architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to understand project scope and modeling requirements.
-
Support project setup activities such as file organization, view creation, model cleanup, and documentation control.
-
Assist in updating models and drawings based on comments, markups, RFIs, and coordination inputs.
Coordination and Communication
-
Participate in internal coordination discussions to understand project priorities, design intent, and delivery expectations.
-
Coordinate with team members to resolve basic modeling or documentation issues.
-
Communicate progress, blockers, and questions clearly to project leads/coaches.
-
Learn how BIM/VDC models support downstream teams such as fabrication, procurement, and field execution.
-
Develop confidence in professional communication through project reviews and team interactions.
Process Learning and Technical Growth
-
Learn standard BIM workflows, naming conventions, modeling standards, and quality requirements.
-
Follow established SOPs, templates, and checklists to maintain consistency in deliverables.
-
Explore tools such as Revit, Navisworks, ACC/Forma, Bluebeam, MWF, Tekla, Vertex BD, Dynamo, or similar platforms.
-
Support basic quality checks by reviewing model accuracy, drawing completeness, and adherence to project standards.
-
Build awareness of automation, data-driven workflows, and emerging construction technologies.
Team Collaboration and Ownership
-
Work closely with engineers and project teams to complete assigned tasks on time.
-
Be open to feedback and actively improve modeling, documentation, and coordination skills.
-
Maintain accountability for assigned work and ask questions early when information is unclear.
-
Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing learnings and supporting peers.
-
Demonstrate curiosity, discipline, and a willingness to learn new tools and construction workflows.
A day in this role
The day starts by reviewing assigned tasks, project priorities, and guidance from senior team members. You work on model development, drawing updates, documentation tasks, or markups while checking project standards and references. You coordinate with teammates to clarify requirements and resolve basic issues. Time is spent learning software tools, understanding LGSF systems, reviewing drawing sets, and incorporating feedback into deliverables. As you grow, you begin supporting quality checks, coordination preparation, and workflow improvements. The day closes with progress updates, documenting open questions, and preparing the next set of project tasks.
What You Should Bring
-
Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
-
Fresher, or 0–1 year of experience, or strong academic/project exposure in BIM, Revit modeling, construction drawings, or prefabrication workflows.
-
Basic understanding of construction drawings, building elements, and engineering documentation.
-
Interest in Light Gauge Steel Framing, prefabrication, BIM/VDC, modular construction, or construction technology.
-
Basic knowledge of tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
-
Willingness to learn LGSF-related tools such as MWF, Tekla, Vertex BD, FrameCAD, or similar software.
-
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
-
Attention to detail, learning mindset, and ability to follow standards and instructions.
-
Interest in process improvement, automation, and emerging construction technologies.
What Will Make Your Application Stand Out
-
Academic or internship experience in BIM modeling, CAD-to-BIM, Scan-to-BIM, construction documentation, or structural/architectural modeling.
-
Exposure to Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC/BIM 360, Bluebeam, Dynamo, or other BIM-related tools.
-
Basic understanding of Light Gauge Steel Framing, cold-formed steel, prefabrication, modular construction, or DfMA concepts.
-
Ability to read drawings, follow markups, and produce clean, accurate models or drawing outputs.
-
Demonstrated curiosity through certifications, personal projects, training programs, or portfolio work related to BIM/VDC.
-
