Job Purpose
To inspire students to develop proficiency in the Telugu language while fostering an appreciation for Telugu literature, culture, and heritage. The teacher will create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that build reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while promoting critical thinking and creativity.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Planning & Instruction
- Plan and deliver engaging Telugu lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
- Develop students' proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Telugu.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, literature, poetry, comprehension, and creative writing.
- Incorporate storytelling, debates, role plays, projects, and collaborative learning strategies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Establish clear expectations and maintain effective classroom discipline.
- Encourage active participation and student ownership of learning.
- Foster confidence in using Telugu in academic and everyday contexts.
Assessment & Feedback
- Design formative and summative assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and submit reports within deadlines.
- Use assessment data to improve teaching and support student growth.
Student Development
- Encourage appreciation of Telugu language, literature, and cultural traditions.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide interventions.
- Promote communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
- Support students' social and emotional development through positive relationships.
Technology Integration
- Use digital tools and educational technology to enhance learning.
- Prepare engaging presentations, worksheets, quizzes, and interactive resources.
- Maintain digital lesson plans and assessment records as required.
Parent Communication
- Maintain professional communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide constructive academic feedback.
- Collaborate with parents to support student learning and well-being.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in assemblies, school events, competitions, and cultural programmes.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and school initiatives.
- Support examination duties and administrative responsibilities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Principal.
Professional Development
- Participate actively in workshops, training programmes, and professional learning communities.
- Stay updated with best practices in language teaching and pedagogy.
- Reflect on teaching practices and continuously improve instructional effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Telugu or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in middle school preferred.
- Experience in CBSE/Cambridge schools is an advantage.
