Lamppost Digital is looking for a curious and committed Web Development Trainee with a strong interest in building and improving business websites.
This role is suitable for a fresher who has foundational web development knowledge and is willing to learn through research, experimentation and hands-on implementation. The selected candidate will work on live projects under guidance and gradually take responsibility for assigned website-related tasks.
Candidates who successfully complete the two-month training period may be considered for a full-time role based on their performance, learning progress, commitment and the company’s requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining WordPress websites.
- Create and modify web pages using WordPress and Elementor.
- Support basic WooCommerce and e-commerce website requirements.
- Make website content, layout and design updates.
- Ensure that websites are responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
- Install, configure and manage suitable WordPress themes and plugins.
- Assist with website forms, integrations and other functional requirements.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic website, plugin and layout issues.
- Support website speed, usability, security and performance improvements.
- Test completed work carefully before submission.
- Understand assigned requirements and implement them under guidance.
- Research suitable technical approaches when encountering a new requirement.
- Maintain proper documentation and provide regular task updates.
- Follow the company’s development process, quality standards and timelines.
Required Technical Foundation
- Basic knowledge of WordPress and Elementor.
- Understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript is an advantage.
- Familiarity with responsive web design.
- Basic understanding of domains, hosting and website deployment.
- Familiarity with WooCommerce or other website-building platforms is an advantage.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic website issues.

Educational Qualification
Candidates with a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications or a related discipline may apply.
Candidates from other educational backgrounds may also be considered if they can demonstrate relevant web development knowledge, projects or practical skills.
