- Assist in the installation, erection, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical equipment for steel plant projects.
- Support supervision of fabrication and erection activities for structural steel, piping, conveyors, tanks, ducts, and process equipment.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
- Assist in planning daily site activities and tracking project progress.
- Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and project procedures.
- Prepare daily progress reports, work schedules, material tracking reports, and site documentation.
- Support quantity verification, measurement, and project billing documentation where applicable.
- Participate in troubleshooting mechanical issues during installation and commissioning.
- Follow company HSE policies and promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant project experience.
- Internship or industrial training in steel, power, cement, or heavy engineering projects is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment used in steel plants.
- Understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices.
- Knowledge of piping systems, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Understanding of mechanical installation and alignment techniques.
- Basic knowledge of welding processes and inspection methods.
- Awareness of quality standards and industrial safety practices.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to EPC or industrial project execution.
- Knowledge of project planning concepts and documentation.
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures and commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and HSE requirements.
